The first bicycle race a Easton was at the 8th Easton Hall Horticultural Exhibition on August 6th 1886. The race was advertised in the Grantham Journal of July 24th 1886. "A bicycle race will be run, open within a radius of five miles of Easton, for which special prizes will be given."
The annual sports continued through the 1890's but bicycle racing was not reported until the 1897 sports. By 1899 there were five bicycle races at the sports. The sports continued, with bicycle races up to the outbreak of the First World War.
